Handling technology

Precise control of the process parameters is crucial in metals forming processes – not only at the furnaces, forging presses and rolling mills, but along the complete process chain. Therefore, we develop and implement high precision automatic handling systems that take the components safely from one production stage to the next.

No matter how well a forging press or rolling mill may work, if the component is improperly handled, severe and possibly irreparable effects could occur to the material properties.

Automation at its best

A workpiece has to cover a very long way from its delivery as input material until it is finished and ready for storage. We design and build customized handling solutions, including:

  • roller tables, elevators and turntables for the horizontal and vertical transfer of components
  • systems for loading and unloading furnaces and for dipping the forgings into quenching baths

Our range of engineering services for handling solutions includes consultation, planning and design, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of complete systems as well as aftersales service.

During the concept design and implementation phases our specialists work closely with the other parties involved in a project – with the manufacturers of the ovens and presses for example.

We integrate the handling systems deep into the “data world” of the users at the different levels of the automation pyramid. This starts with the control of the individual handling components. Then it integrates the recording of production and quality data and ends in higher-level production planning.
