Energy Recovery Systems

Klaus Zillinger

There's a lot of kinetic energy in play when a forging manipulator weighing - with the workpiece it carries - hundreds of tonnes, is moving at a speed of 60 m/min.

Now, using technology derived from the world of Formula 1, we recover during retardation 70 % of the energy expended for acceleration. The manipulator's energy needs are thus drastically reduced.

And, at the same time, we shorten the acceleration and braking phases.

The benefits for our customers: significantly lower energy costs, shorter processing times, more forgings per shift.

Now, using technology derived from the world of Formula 1, we recover during retardation 70 % of the energy expended for acceleration.
